Welcome to Mt. Norquay, your home away from home. Norquay is a family-friendly ski resort that is filled with a rich history from our 97 years of operation, and is fondly referred to as the locals’ hill. We are well-known for our incredible background in ski racing, our vast array of events, including the only night skiing in Banff. Come join our ever-growing family and learn how great it is to work on the mountain with some of the best friends you will ever make. Located minutes from the town of Banff, Norquay is a small friendly gem with a tight knit team that cares about its customers and employees.

Live Here

Staff housing is available for entry level employees hired through The Working Holiday Club, but it is not guaranteed for all positions. By mid-September your Department Manager will contact you to confirm the details. Employees can also find their own accommodation within the community of Banff.

None of our staff housing is on-hill, but we have a complimentary staff bus that picks up our employees all through town and brings them up to work. Norquay is an easy 5 minute drive from Banff so our employees get to enjoy everything Banff has to offer.

Norquay offers clean and affordable accommodation for most full-time employees at a number of locations around Banff. All of our residences are fully furnished, complete with household appliances, and generally include a shared room and access to communal kitchen and living areas. Our dedicated Housing team works to ensure employees who choose to reside in employee housing have a safe, comfortable, and respectful place to call home.

Please contact hr@banffnorquay.com for any questions regarding staff housing, or inquiries about how to find a place to live in town.

Employs over 100 staff during the winter season

This location does have staff housing but it is limited. Each department has an allocation of beds in housing….clarify with the recruiter when interviewing what roles have a guaranteed bed. The accommodation can be across various locations in the township of Banff. The resort offers a staff bus for transport to the resort.

Norquay is literally an 8 min drive to a large ski town in the Rockies called Banff. This town boasts various clubs, bars and plenty of evening activities. This is where the action is! Mt Norquay is the closest resort to Banff.

Saturation of Aussies is high. The township of Banff is an international magnet for tourism so the Australian saturation while quite high is somewhat diluted.

Norquay resort’s base elevation is just over 5000 ft above sea level. This basically means the higher you are the colder it is. The average winter temperature of the resort is cold, getting down to as low as -30 on a regular basis!

Has a limited range of roles. Some outdoor roles and mainly food and beverage back of house roles for winter. Lift operations (must be able to ski to an intermediate level) & tube park for outdoor options. The range of roles tends to change annually based on returning staff numbers. Please see our website for updated details.

To progress up the management or responsibility ladder at this resort – means doing back to back seasons.

This resort offers a ski pass with your employment. This is only for Mt Norquay. Many staff choose to purchase a discounted Big 3 pass which will also give them access to Lake Louise & Sunshine Village so they can ski all 3 resorts in the area!

This resort has 190 acres of skiable terrain. Sounds small but packs some fun times for sure. This location gets a fairly generous amount of powder and is a local favorite due to the fact that it doesn’t gather the large lines like larger ski resorts like Sunshine & Lake Louise!

Reciprocal benefits to other local ski areas for full time employees. Many staff choose to purchase a Big 3 pass which you can get through your resort at a discounted rate to ride the other mountain regularly.

Norquay is a ski resort that sits above Banff township in the Rockies National Park. Literally an 8 min drive down the mountain to Banff and a further 1 hour drive to Calgary.

The TWHC will assist with your first season's contract. The ball is in your court – we help you get the job, you need to work hard to keep it. Ongoing extension of contracts are based on seasonal performance and at the determination of management, as is Housing. If in doubt – ask your manager. Norquay operates a summer operation and should your performance be amazing during your season, you could expect to be asked about extending your contract.

Whist Mt Norquay is much smaller than Lake Louise & Sunshine Village. Many staff prefer to work here as you are the closest to Banff and have housing provided in town.As we’re just a stone’s throw away from the town of Banff, you’ll be close to all the action and calling this home in no-time. With temporary workers arriving from all parts of the world season-after-season, Banff becomes a dynamic hub for those seeking new opportunities, the chance to meet new people, and experience all parts of life in Banff National Park.

When you join the Norquay team, you join the fam. We’re all friendly, down-to-earth types here, on hand to show our new employees the ropes ‘til they get the hang of it. We like to enjoy our work, and make the most of being on the mountain. It’s not surprising that so many of our employees return year after year.

The place is small. So when it's crazy busy it can feel overwhelming as the staff size & facilities are small compared to the crowds it attracts. This place can get super cold….hovering around -30 regularly.
