Scottish Highlands Small Hotel Work Stay (Scotland)

Young family needing help with a small hotel in the beautiful Scottish Highlands! We are looking for someone who is happy and chatty to come and help us and our small team of staff with our small hotel. We are based in a beautiful part of the world with lovely forest walks nearby and a kayak that can be taken out on the river across from us.

We are needing some help with housekeeping, laundry and helping in the kitchen with dishes etc, guest interaction (if happy to do so) so a wee bit of everything! Even playing with our 2 kids!

Myself and my partner Angus moved to the highlands from Glasgow in 2010 and have been working very hard to get our wee business up and running. We have hosted many volunteers and love meeting people from all over the world! We think its important for our kids who, living in such an underpopulated area are in contact with all different cultures and nationalities!

We provide all meals and you will have your own private en suite room in the hotel. We have a bike here you can use to get out and about and have regular music sessions in our great wee highland bar! You kind of become like a member of our family….we try to eat together when we can…but in the same sense you will also have plenty of time to be on your own if that’s what you prefer.

So if you are a happy, hardworking, sensible person who’s looking to spend a few months in the highlands then please get in touch! Anyone with any previous volunteering experience in B&B’s/hostels preferred but not essential.

Experience Horse Care & Homestead Helping, Sweden

Come and experience Horse Care & Homestead Helping in West Sweden. We are still looking for a helper for the summer season. Driving license and at least small experience with horses needed.

We are raising, training and teaching horses and people in the western riding. We do outdoor riding, have a western shop, have a guest house for holidays and more. We are also breeding Hereford cows for meat. That is our organic part of the business.

We are pleased to welcome you if you are willing to give a hand. We give you what we can. The life here at the ranch is different every day, also depending on the weather. And of course it’s always better to like horses. We cannot really plan but we go with the life’s motion,

Oh and a last thing … we are not talking Swedish yet but we are learning. We moved to Sweden 3 years ago and have still so much to learn about Sweden! We love our new country and feel at home here now.

So … Are you coming

Recycled Greenhouse Workcamp in Southern France!!

The camping overlooks the castles of Lastours, an exceptional group of four castle ruins atop a rocky outcrop.

Throughout the year, we send volunteers from our community to other partner organizations and we also receive volunteers from different parts of the world in our campsite. We aim to create an atmosphere of cultural exchange and widen the global perspectives of our volunteers.

Our educational focus is on teaching in the outdoors and promoting eco-friendly practices and environmental preservation. In the projects we are involved in we always aim to increase youth employability, promote education on sustainable development, develop communications skills, and encourage intercultural exchange.

Depending on the objectives of the project, the volunteer activities can be adapted to the individual’s skills and experience.

Volunteering abroad in exchange for food and accommodation is a wonderful way to save money, learn new skills, help others and experience the local lifestyle. While these are all great ways to enrich your life, there are a few things you’ll need to watch out for. So here’s my step by step guide to avoiding a bad experience.

How to volunteer abroad for free

During our past years of travel, we’ve done a lot of volunteering work: as teachers in Senegal, Mexico and Turkey, caring for animals in New Zealand, Australia, England and Greece, working with small communities in Morocco, landscaping in Ireland,… and the list goes on. We never had to pay any money to work as volunteers even though there are many website and organizations that would charge you a lot of money for this type of work! So how did we find all these volunteering jobs around the world for free? That’s what we explain in this video that we made for Helpstay. And guys, you know we wouldn’t recommend anything to you that we don’t believe in and haven’t tried out ourselves!

Is it possible to travel the world for free?

Many people are wondering how we travel for so long. We aren’t rich, we don’t have much savings and we don’t have a steady job but we have found ways to see the world for almost no money while not missing out on amazing adventures.
